Our Mission statement.

“A brighter future from an industrious past" The principle mission of the Trust is to support the economic and social regeneration of the former coal mining town of Gorebridge and surrounding areas in Midlothian.

Gorebridge Community Development Trust is a registered Scottish charity that was established in 2004. The Trust works in partnership with local people, other local agencies and stakeholders to provide the conditions for improved community cohesion and local services. 

The above will be achieved by:

• Managing community facilities and projects that impact on the quality of life for all residents in Gorebridge.  


• Providing leadership, focus, support and encouragement for local community groups making sure that the community feel empowered to improve their own lives.
• Managing Projects and initiatives that will bring more economic growth along with increased volunteering and employment opportunities to Gorebridge.
