The Brown Building (BB) acts as a community centre for Gorebridge. Gorebridge Community Development Trust (GCDT) currently runs the Brown Building on behalf of the Gorberidge Community.

However, after a public meeting held in March 2007 the community recognised the need to keep the Brown Building open with the proposed closure of Greenhall Centre due within a few years. Since then the Trust has been granted a lease from Midlothian Council.
