Coming Soon - The New Community Hub
Gorebridge Community Development Trust is in the process of developing a multi-purpose community hub. The hub will replace the old Brown Building providing a much needed fit for purpose community facility.
The hub will be located on hunterfield road in the heart of Gorebridge. Located central to the library, leisure centre, primary school, parish church and care home the hub will create a number of employment opportunties and provide a central point for the community to access local services and facilities that will aid social and economic regeneration.
Facilities
A modern two storey building incorporating:
- Main Hall: 320m2
- Services (Toilets / Storage / Kitchen): 78m2
- Café: 100m2
- Youth Facility / Seminar Rm: 40m2
- Larger Office Rms: 48m2 *6 = 288m2
- Smaller Office Rms: 23m2*5 = 115m2
- Reception: 18m2
TOTAL: 959m2
The hub will accommodate:
- Community cafe
- Childrens soft play area
- Youth facility
- Office space for social enterprise and charitable organisations
- Nursery group
- Lunch club for Senior Citizens
- Conference facility attracting business and community users to Gorebridge
- Main Hall for classes and local events, such as weddings, gala day etc.
Funding
The project is grant aided for the capital works, from the Big Lottery Fund, Tyne Esk Leader + and Midlothian Council. Other local fund raising initiatives are in progress.
